A front-wheel-drive SEL Sport is EPA-rated at 31 mpg combined, and the turbocharged SEL Premium and Limited come in at 28 mpg combined.

• Do you need all-wheel drive? For most of San Diego County, front-wheel drive is plenty. If you head up the 8 toward the mountains in winter, AWD is worth it.
